Adelaide United coach has Marco Kutz has spoke of his love for his squad as Adelaide United climbed to fourth on the A-League table after a 2-1 home win against Perth Glory on Saturday night.
“The performance from the boys, they give in every game whatever they have,” Kurz said.
“I am very proud about the boys and I love the boys.”
The win at Hindmarsh Stadium saw the Reds climb to fourth spot of A-league table after leapfrogging Melbourne Victory who lost to the Newcastle Jets earlier in the day and are now placed perfectly for a finals campaign.
The Glory had opened the scoring in the 4th minute through Andy Keogh who nodded the ball home from 6m from a brilliant Scott Neville cross.
But 8 minutes later teammate Dino Djulbic’s scored an own after dealing with a dangerous cross, to gift Adelaide momentum with the equaliser.
By the 38th minute Adelaide were in front with a goal crafted by Reds captain Isaias who expertly arrowed a 30m pass downfield and into path of the excellent Nikola Mileusnic. With only goalkeeper Liam Reddy to beat, Mileusnic took aim from 10 metres and converted a low right-footer.
The Reds now have an extended break as their next scheduled match isn’t until 17th February at home to Central Coast Mariners, but even so the German boss will continue to train his squad hard.
“Now we are nine points in front and plus the goal difference and that is very important,” Kurz said.
“We stay in a good position but we know that we need a lot of points to get to finals.
“And every game, it’s very close and we fight so hard for points.
“I hope we have the power to the end, to get there in the finals.”
