Hyundai A-League Match Day 15 Results

At the end of Match Day 15 Sydney FC stood fast at the top of Hyundai A-league ladder, 8 points ahead of Newcastle Jets with 38 points, having won 12 matches, lost one and drawn twice.

On Monday Bobo scored his 15th goal in as many games and nine in his last five of this current season, to help claim a 3-0 win away to Brisbane Roar.

Bobo opened the scoring in the 18th minute, with the Brazilian slamming home a cross from Milos Ninkovic.

Mierzejewski increased Sydney’s lead five minutes into the second half with a curling strike from the edge of the penalty area. This was his 7th goal in 8 games.

Substitute David Carney scored the third after Brillante escaped unchecked into the area and squared unselfishly for Alex Brosque. Jamie Young did well to block the close-range finish, but Carney arrived to eventually poke in amid a goalmouth scramble.

Following their loss, Brisbane Roar linger in 9th position of the A-League table.

Tuesday night’s F3 derby looked like it would end goalless, until Dimitri Petratos and Patricio Rodriguez scored late to help the Newcastle Jets to a 2-0 win over a 10-man Central Coast Mariners, leaving the Mariners in 8th position.

Ross McCormack’s brace and some more brilliance from youngster Daniel Arzani ensured Melbourne City’s 2-0 victory over Perth Glory on Tuesday at nib Stadium, which left Melbourne in 3rd spot and Perth in 7th.

Meanwhile Wellington Phoenix came from behind to claim just their second win of this campaign, defeating a 10-man Melbourne Victory 2-1 at Westpac Stadium. The result saw Phoenix in 10th and Victory 5th.

The last game of Match Day 15 ended in a 1-1 draw for Western Sydney Wanderers and Adelaide.

Jack Clisby scored his maiden Hyundai A-League goal to fire Western Sydney Wanderers ahead just before the break, whilst super-sub Apostolos Stamatelopoulos netted with less than five minutes remaining to share the points.
