Event convenor and Armidale United player Nick Machalias said "this years event will be even bigger with more sponsors, trophies and prizemoney, although the main emphasis was on on everyone having a good weekend away and enjoying the soccer and the mateship formed with other players and teams over the weekend. I am hoping to bring a well-known soccer personality to our function at the Ex-Services Club (Saturday night), as well as an entertainer".

Regents Park Old Boys FC Over 35's player/manager Rob McGlinn who's team hails from Brisbane and won the Consolation Cup in the 2009 tournament said "our team absolutely loved the weekend away and was a great way to end a fantastic year of football for the team. We have been waiting with baited breath as to when this years tournament details will be confirmed and now that it has we have already confirmed our participation and started planning our trip".
